Hydrolyzed collagen peptides
Bovine, Type I/III — glycine, proline and hydroxyproline, the exact aminos tendon is built from. Tendon is ~95% Type I. (Type II is cartilage: different tissue, different product.) A 2026 dosing review places 10–15 g pre-exercise inside the range associated with reduced activity-related tendon discomfort.
Vitamin C

Weighted pull ups

Half right — about most of what's sold. Two things are usually missing: vitamin C (synthesis can't run without the cofactor) and any guidance on timing. And yes, most of a collagen dose is broken down into free amino acids — but specific fragments (Pro-Hyp, Hyp-Gly) survive digestion, appear in the blood, and signal the cells that build tendon. That's the mechanism the pre-load trial tested, and synthesis markers doubled. If a collagen failed you before, it was a mechanism problem, not a category problem.
Loading and rest are the core — keep both, keep your physio's plan. But rest only stops the aggravation, and loading is only the stimulus. Neither one delivers the raw material the tissue rebuilds from. This rides on top of the rehab you're already doing. It doesn't replace a minute of it.
